Queensland parliament is due to debate and vote on
The GST and Related Matters Bill 2000
in the June sitting of Parliament (20-22 June).

Before the end of June each state and territory parliament
will debate bills like the one in Queensland.
These Members of Parliament (MPs) are elected
to represent the people of their states and electorates
and

The Queensland Labor Government is trying to convince you that they are forced to vote YES and that they have no choice.

The truth is that the Queensland Labor government DO have a choice.

Apart from the Premier, not one Member of the Queensland parliament is obligated to vote for the GST - regardless of Federal legislation and
regardless of the agreement Beattie signed.

All MPs are bound to represent their electorate

even National party and Labor Party MPs

Its particularly important State Labor MPs understand that not only are they
free to VOTE NO to the GST, but that we expect them ALL to VOTE NO.

So ring yours and tell them so!

Ask when the GST debate is to start, and when he or she will be speaking.
Tell them you will be watching and you will remember how they voted.

If the Labor Government in Queensland VOTE NO, the way their mates did in Canberra, and will in Adelaide and Perth, they can kill the GST and roll it back on top of Canberra's unholy Coalition, before it begins.

By now I think you may be looking for how to get on to your local MP.
